Okay so much for blogging about my pregnancy. My last post was in November and now the baby is already here. Here is a quick run down of how my last trimester went.
It wasn't too bad until I got to month 9. I had gotten used to the lack of sleep and the water retention. You should have seen my legs - they seemed to double in size. If I even put on a pair of shoes my feet would spill out over them. I also got clumsy but didn't seem to suffer much from pregnancy brain. ( I don't think) But the worst pregnancy side effect was the numbing of my hands. The carpal tunnel syndrome seemed to develop in the 8th month and progressively got worse throughout the rest of the pregnancy.
My hands felt as thought I'd been sleeping on them and cut off all circulation. I even bought a brace to hopefully help. It really didn't. So everyday my hands would be all tingly and sometimes it hurt so bad that it woke me up from sleeping.
Didn't exercise too much during the last few months. I felt clumsy and uncomfortable. All really too bad since I had imagined I'd be this supermom and workout until the very last day. Oh well at least you loose weight during breast feeding.
The baby has gotten into a hiccuping routine. He/she hiccups on a regular basis at 3 to 4am. And I feel every one of them. I'm told it's from swallowing all the amniotic fluid when they are trying to practice breathing.

Week 31
Well less than 10 weeks to go and I'm getting mixed feelings about the arrival of the baby. Both exitement about the pending arrival, apprehension about parenting and what the furture will hold, fear about having a natural child birth and worry about having all ready in time. Hmmm what is still on my checklist? Pediatrician, finding a doula, purchasing layette, setting up nursery, keeping up with exercise...
Have gained 24 pounds and I think I'm a bit ahead of the weight gain schedule, oh well can't worry about that now will have to plan a serious post partum exercise program.
It is 4:30 am and I'm up as usual. Thank goodness it is Saturday and I can nap today if I need to. The baby is kicking and moving about which isn't helping me to sleep. The baby isn't kicking as much as he is moving around as much. Sometimes it is funny to see my belly just move in waves as if the baby is switching laying down postions. It feels as though a big fish is swimming from one end of my belly to the other. It freaks Brent out to see.
